Vans

Vans needs an experiential campaign to help restore the 'cool factor' and authenticity of the Vans brand among the global, diverse youth/skate culture. We know that Communal and global solidarity is an important part of skate culture. Let’s connect global skate communities to each other with a virtual, global competition of the game SK8.

ROLL OUT

We’ll start rolling out announcements for the competition by posting on Vans socials and around skate parks around the world. To build momentum, we’ll also release a globe inspired Hi-Top shoe.

COMPETITION

We’ll gather a group of 12 global pro skaters representative of global skate diversity to be judges of the competition. There will be a list of tricks and moves pre determined by the 12 pros. Selected skating communities will have portals installed at their parks. Each park will be able to live stream their moves and watch everyone else skate as well. Vans will stream the competition on their socials and their website.   

AWARDS 

Each skater will skate independently, but winners will be rewarded awards for their entire community. 

Bronze: Collaboration with Vans to design a skate shoe that represents their community
Silver: Winner will receive everything from bronze + custom skateboards
Gold: Winner will receive everything from silver + refurbishing and major upgrades to their local skate park.
